
The Ministry of Railways – Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) has released the revised Railway Recruitment 2025 exam schedule for the Computer Based Test (CBT-1) for the Non-Technical Popular Categories (Graduate) under CEN 05/2024. This recruitment process is a great opportunity for graduates aspiring for stable, central government jobs in the Indian Railways sector.

Key Instructions for Candidates
- Admit Card Download: E-Call letters will be available 4 days before the actual exam date via the RRB portal.
- SC/ST Travel Authority: Download link for travel passes will go live 10 days before the exam.
- Aadhaar Verification: Biometric Aadhaar authentication will be mandatory at the exam centre. Bring your original Aadhaar card or a valid e-Aadhaar printout.
- Update Your Aadhaar: Make sure your Aadhaar is active and correctly linked with UIDAI to avoid entry issues.
- Beware of Fraud: Do not trust any individual or source claiming guaranteed jobs or shortcuts. Recruitment is strictly merit-based.

Selection Process
Railway Recruitment 2025 (CEN 05/2024)
The selection process for RRB NTPC Graduate posts involves multiple stages. Candidates must qualify in each stage to proceed to the next. Final selection will be strictly based on merit and performance in the recruitment stages listed below.
- Stage 1: 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Exam Type: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions)
- Total Questions: 100
- Duration: 90 Minutes
- Total Marks: 100
- Negative Marking: 1/3 mark deduction for each wrong answer
- Subjects Covered:
- Mathematics: Number System, Decimals, Fractions, LCM & HCF, Percentage, Time & Distance, Mensuration, Profit & Loss, etc.
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analogies, Coding-Decoding, Syllogism, Puzzles, Venn Diagrams, etc.
- General Awareness: Indian History, Geography, Polity, Current Affairs, Science, Indian Economy, Govt Programs, etc.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- UR/EWS: 40%
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/SC: 30%
- ST: 25%
(2% relaxation for PwBD candidates if necessary)
📌 The 1st Stage CBT is of screening nature. Normalized scores will be used to shortlist candidates for Stage 2.
- Stage 2: 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Shortlisting Criteria: Based on normalized marks of Stage 1
- Total Questions: 120
- Duration: 90 Minutes
- Total Marks: 120
- Negative Marking: 1/3 mark for each incorrect answer
- Subjects Covered : (Same as Stage 1 – but with higher difficulty level)
- Minimum Qualifying Marks : (Same as Stage 1)
📌 Scores in Stage 2 will be used for shortlisting candidates for further tests depending on the post.
- Stage 3A: Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
- Only for candidates applying for Station Master post
- Minimum Qualifying Score: T-score of 42 marks in each test battery (no relaxation for any category)
- Medium: English and Hindi only
- Negative Marking: None
🔍 Only candidates 8 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for CBAT. Vision certificate is mandatory at the time of test.
- Stage 3B: Typing Skill Test (TST)
- For posts like Junior Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, etc.
- Nature: Qualifying (marks not added to final merit)
- Typing Speed:
- English – 30 WPM
- Hindi – 25 WPM
- Font for Hindi: Kruti Dev & Mangal
- Platform: Personal computer without editing/spell-check tools
🖋️ Candidates equal to 8 times the number of vacancies will be called for this test.
- Final Stages: Document Verification & Medical Examination
- Candidates who qualify all previous rounds will be called for Document Verification followed by Medical Fitness Tests as per the post’s medical standards.
