Pay Scale: Rs 64,820 – 93,960 (with annual increments)

Key Responsibility of SBI Specialist Officer

  • Ensure the accurate and efficient processing of all assigned Trade Finance and Forex transactions within the established Turnaround Time (TAT).
  • Track and oversee periodic activities, including maturities, payments, customer follow-ups, and reconciliation.
  • Perform timely reconciliation of relevant accounts and systems in compliance with the Bank’s standards.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure the agreed customer TAT is maintained.
  • Adhere to all regulatory, bank, ICC, and FEDAI guidelines.
  • Contribute to RCSA, BCOR, process reviews, and training sessions by providing relevant inputs for continuous improvement.
  • Assist with any other tasks as directed by Team Leaders or Department/Branch Heads, based on operational needs or requirements.
  • Ensure the timely submission and compliance with all audit reports.

Educational Qualifications REQUIRED for SBI Specialist Officer

  • Mandatory: Graduation (any discipline) from a recognized university and Certificate in Forex by IIBF (certified by 31.12.2024).
  • Preferred: Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialists (CDCS), Certificate in Trade Finance, or Certificate in International Banking (certified by 31.12.2024).

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in trade finance processing as an executive in a supervisory role at any Scheduled Commercial Bank.

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection process will consist of shortlisting and an interview.

  • Shortlisting:
    Meeting the minimum qualifications and experience requirements does not automatically entitle a candidate to be called for an interview. The shortlisting committee formed by the Bank will define the criteria for shortlisting, and based on these parameters, an adequate number of candidates, as determined by the Bank, will be selected for the interview. The Bank’s decision regarding which candidates are invited for the interview will be final, and no correspondence will be entertained.
  • Interview:
    The interview will be conducted for a total of 100 marks. The Bank will decide the minimum qualifying marks for the interview, and no correspondence regarding this will be entertained.
  • Merit List:
    The merit list for selection will be compiled in descending order based solely on the interview scores. If multiple candidates obtain the same score (i.e., common marks at the cutoff point), they will be ranked in descending order of their age for the merit list.

How to Apply for SBI Specialist Officer Posts

  1. Candidates must register online through the link available on the SBI website, the link of which is given below in the Important Links section, and pay the application fee via Internet Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, etc.
  2. Candidates should first scan their latest photograph and signature. The online application will not be registered unless the candidate uploads their photo and signature as specified on the online registration page (under ‘How to Upload Document’).
  3. Candidates should fill in the application carefully. Once the application is completed, the candidate should submit it. If the candidate is unable to fill out the application in one session, they may save the entered information. Upon saving, a provisional registration number and password will be generated and displayed on the screen. The candidate should note down the registration number and password. They can reopen the saved application using these credentials and edit the information if needed. This facility to edit saved information is available up to three times only. Once the application is fully completed, the candidate should submit it and proceed with the online fee payment.
  4. After registering online, candidates are advised to take a printout of the system-generated online application form for their records.
